Two former pastors retire! Pastor Mary Laub has retired for (the second time) after serving at Painesdale, MI after she retired from First Church. Pastor Eileen Kuehnl has retired from the Wisconsin Conference where she was most recently serving the Dell LaFarge United Methodist Church. Blessings to you both for all your years of service.

Congratulations to our Josie Bower for being selected as the 2019 Outstanding Graduate for the Business Division at Bay College! This award is selected by their instructors for their academic excellence, leadership and community service.
Today we honored our graduates during the service and afterward for a special Pizza Sunday - and cake! Blessings and congrats to our graduates Samantha (Bay College), Josie (Bay), and Jackson (Bark River-Harris)!
It appears that this little man is taking after his speedy parents. Each won a medal in the 5K run at Annual Conference to benefit Disaster Relief.
After a tough winter, the flowering trees are just giving it their all! This is the crabapple tree in full blossom. Glorious!
Some of the ladies from First UMC and Bark River UMC gathered for a summer salad supper, fellowship, and songs. It is always great to get together!

Today we passed the $60,000 mark in giving to Grace Children's Hospital in Haiti! The people of First UMC have been passing around straw baskets every Sunday since 1982, with coins and bills collected for Grace. Blessings and thanks for this legacy of giving to children and their families in Haiti!
It is also "Pizza Sunday" this week and we will have a visit from Erica Thomas, Camp Michigamme director.
As we continue the celebration of the resurrection, we will learn more about "Thomas" this week. Please join us Sunday at 9:30am.
